Breakfast at Mc.

Today, 5th June 2011, Rachi turned 21 months. During her 20th months she amazed us by eating totally independently. She prefers to eat on her own and she has been eating independently. She likes to walk, quite fast actually. Sometimes her paces are like ours. She runs and runs to chase the ball, balloon, birds, dogs and other kids. She is fond to be around the noisy and older children. If she is happen to be in a new place, she holds our hands tightly without letting go even for a second. Once she gets familiar with the surroundings, she lets go our hands and runs for something that grasps her interest.

She behaves like a teen. She can be very possessive sometime. She longs for bags to carry, shoes to wear and dresses up when ever she finds mama's dresses or she simply opens the wardrobe and gets the stuff that come handy to her. After she has taken out things, she slightly closes the door. She does not leave it open. She puts used crockeries on the sink and rubbish on the dust bin. These are her good skills.

During her 20th months she was able to do the followings:
- she puts all her toys together and sits beside them talking.
- she says...aiya, sleep, sit, watch, bag, Saan(for Santi), koku, car, um(for umbrella) no...nods her head while accepting and denying things.
- In the park she is after the ball, dog, bubbles and seeing those things she even ignores us.
- she has denied eating her regular breakfast. In terms of food, she prefers to eat lunch/dinner if only there is a lot of soup.
- she runs to the 7-11 and demands for things to buy her...she has shown very fondness for chocolates..
- she instanly imitates the other people's behaviours, i.e laughing, screaming, folding hands, winking, etc.
- Once it is bed time, she jumps on the bed and waits for mama and bubu..
- when the neighbor's doors creek, she gasps, gestures,"uh." and comes closer to us.
- she shows jealousness when papa kisses mama. She must get it too.
- she can say words when we request her to say after us.
- she cries when her papa pops out for work or when ever he just goes out.
- she demands for back massage.
- when she is bored and finds nothing to do, she disengages mama and seeks attention.
- she understands sentences such as, " give to papa, bring the pillow, take the pillow, put the dollies away, sit down, go to bed, sleep, etc."
- once she is done drinking milk she puts back the pillow on the bed.
- Once she is done drinking from  the cup, she puts it on the sink to be washed away. Even the cup/plates that her papa has used, she can't stand lying on the table/floor..she tidies by putting them on the sink as she knows that these have been used, they are dirty and needs to be cleaned up. Then I crack a joke to her papa, " you ought to learn from your daughter."
- 25th May 2011, at the age of 20 months and 20 days she surprised me by saying words, koku, uncle, aunty, mummy(we have only taught her to say mama) daddy.
- when she is hungry, she says haapu and fowards her steps towards her table.
- she brings mama's shoes for mama ready to wear when she is ready dressed up going out.
- She says NO to deny something or to disagree something.

When she is demanding for something that we do not want her to give/get, we simply divert her from the scene and engage on something else. In the park when she sees the other with the food/drinks, she leaves whatever she is holding and runs to get them. This somehow seems embarrasing to us and then we carry her and take away from the spot. She instead protest us by crying, stammering her legs and swaying her body. Very often in the park when she sees older kids screaming/shrieking, she does the same.
