A day out in Kowloon park |
Another thing is that she is enthralled to hear/sing/hum the birthday tune. When we sing her or she overehears on the tally, she makes her face, hums and then starts clapping. She beams with delightment.
Rachida brings the pillow and puts on mom’s lap and then makes her lie down on it and demands for milk. This shows that she is ready to express for her needs. She is very fond of eggs (she understands when you show her egg or simply say “time to eat egg”), spiral pasta, yakult and tofu.
Rachida turned 18 months on 5th March 2011. What I have seen in her is she is becoming increasingly moody and needs a very quick response (indeed like me) – it makes me remind of teen cousin, who in someway acts like Rachida sometime. So, I think 18 months is more like the attitude and the behavior of the 18 years old teenager.
During her 18 months, she has fascinated us by doing a lot of activities.
- When she does something mischievous, and if we happen to notice her, she stops for a while, then she tries to avert our gaze by pointing on to something. Once she finds us engaged on something, she continues doing whatever she was doing.
- If she falls or bangs herself, she fakes cries to grab our attention.
- These days when she meets a person for the first time, she stays quite and approaches towards us.
- She gives 5.
- She takes out mama’s hair band and puts on her papa’ head.
- She likes ice-cream very much, we had already given her twice.
- She insists on walking on her path, does not like to follow especially in the park.
- When she is done eating, she places dishes, cups, spoon on the sink. She knows that it is the place where dirty dishes go.
- She can /kick ball.

She says "Bu" to ball |
- She kisses us when she realizes that she has upset us.
- She enjoys pushing her buggy.
- She is busy messing up – clothes off the wardrobe, CD’s off the rack, toys of the basket, shoes/books off the shelf, cooking utensils off the rack.
- Ball fascinates her – she points out and says “ball” whenever she sees anywhere. She runs inside the football ground to grab/chase the ball.
- She knows bubbles and as soon as she sees the bubble container she gestures us to blow.
- She can climb on the bed.
- She enjoys taking stairs. We have been doing stair walking exercise.
