2 years and 2 months

I'm not afraid of these apes.

Rachi is 26 months old and this month(November 2011) has been a huge beneficial in terms of cognitive development. Many trials occurred, and she overcame with them. She is very enthusiastic to learn words and once she hears something, she likes to repeat, repeat and repeat until she can say them clearly. Her memory is sharp which is evident from her spoken words that she says instantly.



She understands whatever we are meaning to say and responds quite readily. If the phone rings, she says, " mommy, phone!" and passes to me. She lets me know when something is happening that I am not aware of it. Thus, she has been like my assistant. 
We took her for her soon-to-become kindergarten for interview. The principle assessed her and she actively participated in the assessment. She did not miss a chance to let herself down. She even sang, "Twinkle, twinkle" to Miss Lee. She played toys and identified colors and fruit.

Pink butterfly

Just by listening music she knows which song is going top be played on. She sings a few lines from the song, " Monkey Hill" on her papa's project. She also sings the children song Ocean Park fervently. During her papa's shootings, she quips, " Ready, 1-2-3" before her papa could blurt out.

She has shown consciousness about dressing up and how she looks like. She shows preference for certain dress, hats, shoes and bags. If she does not like her black hood, she simply denies to wear it. After she is done wearing her clothes, she demands for photo shoot. She commands, " Papa, photo, please."

She loves being in Lib

She is very aggressive in nature, throws tantrums, cries uncontrollably when she is upset. 

My obession

-She has strongly shown obsession for high heels and bags. She must get mom's shoes when she goes out or enters the room. So, I must hurry and hide the shoes before she gets them. As the weeks went by, she stopped trying to wear mom's shoes. Mom says, " Dirty shoes, baby!" and she too says, " mummy's dirty shoes!" and enters the room without trying to wear the shoes.

- If she dislikes her trousers, she takes them off. 

- She surprised us and the Babila staff,  by saying, " Don't touch me!" when she sales girl touched her. We all laughed our hearts out. 

- She wears "shorts" on her own.

- If she does not anything we say, she just adds NO in front of the sentence, for instance, " Baby, please eat this" she she is not in a mood to eat, she replies back with, " No, baby please eat this"

Her new toys

- She can say  long sentences without mumbling. She has developed clarity in her words. She uses possessive words such as My hat, papa's shoes, mummy's bag and so on.

- She enjoys talking with the Talking Puppy and the Talking Hamster.  She stops crying whenever she finds those animations. She laughs with it, talks and produces funny noises to let them imitate her. This makes her laugh so hard. 

- While awake she lets me trim her nails. 

- She drinks medicines without complaints or denials. 

Monkey Hill team

- When papa is about to go to the office, she readies herself and says, " Papa going office, baby going office." She holds papa's hands and walks with papa towards the lift. Then mom has to go there and bring her back. Sometime her motive is to get mom's shoes from the shoes rack.

- She commands, Mommy give me please! Papa put here! etc

- She shows obsession for HATS. She does not like to take it out. 

-  She plays with her kitchen utensils, does like making tea, acts to pour on the tea cups and passes them to us and intends to sip and quips, " Huh, yummy!" she lets her dolls sleep, tries to feed her dolls, lets her other larger toys wear Hats, she wakes them up, says, " Good Morning! Wake up!"

Time for office

- If she finds something new for the first time, she is fascinated and plays with it for a sometime.
- When she is surprised or does not really like something, she says, " Oh, my god!" and closes her mouth, an adult's expression. Papa came home with his new hairdo and she was surprised and spoke in a complete amazement. If she likes mom's or papa's dress or something, she comes closer to us, smiles and says, " Waoh!"
- She has been sleeping for 12 hours daily.
