16 months plus

Today, 5th February 2011, Rachida reached 17 months. During her 16th months she learned lot of things: - She cried less only to nag around. The one amusing thing that she did was she drinks mama's milk together with biscuit as if dipping biscuit into the tea.
She enjoys drinking water in her water bottle which she did not fancy at all during her early days. She also find fun turning rounds and rounds quipping, " kuchu kuchu" and smiling/laughing as if she is having great time. Finally she feels dizzy and stumbles on the floor. During her 15th months, she was able to do activities that amazed us hugely. Seeing her activities it reminds me of my elder sister Raju who told me that the child at this age would make parents very happy and appalled at the same time.


- She can readily get off the bed.
- She likes to be cuddled and hugged.
- She understands things like, " put there, bring that, wear shoes don't do, sit there."
- She bends down with her head down and cheers, " Yeah yeah"
- She eats and drinks on her own. She even feeds us when she is full.
- She is very friendly to people, she smiles, laughs and waves them hi/bye.
- She eats adult's breakfast cereal, drinks soy milk, eats siu mai. The first time she surprised me by eating 2 siu  mais.
- She can change channels.
-She eats and drinks from the bowl.
- When papa is asleep or lying down she wipes papa's face with the tissue or towel. Maybe she knows that papa is unwell she moves closer to her dad and hugs him affectionately.
- She can't stand people wearing caps/head scarf, she takes them off.
- She knows where to put things.
-  She messes up the TV channels and hands us the remote control when she gets stuck with some information screen.
- She points at the things  she wants.
- She plays with mama's stomach and embraces/pinches/tickles and smiles mischieviously.
- In the park, she would follow the people with bags, expecting food from there. She stands in front of those people, smiles, does namaste and once she gets anything from them she would walk away, sometime stays with them chatting...
