9 months plus

5th June 2010, today Rachida is 9 months old. If she finds her drum, she would drum it with a drum stick, pen or anything, immediately she would snatch from us and does exactly what we just did. This shows that she is very keen to learn and try/bring into practice the very new thing. As a mother this is fascinating to see your little one learning new things every day, from sitting to rolling and then crawling.
Another new developmental thing about her is, she being able to crawl(18th June 2010). She likes to crawl/move very fast whether on the bed or on the floor or on the children's playground. Twice I made her sit on the playground and showing her keys clanking, she forwarded her hands and legs towards me where I was holding keys and showing them to her. She would hear the keys clanking and would crawl to grab it. As soon as she gets near the keys, another task for me to move myself a bit further away and lay the keys on the ground. So again she would push herself to get it. There were women with children who seemed quite fascinated seeing we "mum's & daughter's activities" A baby toddler would approach towards us and intervent our act by grabbing the keys and running away from us. Her mum would bring the keys back and hand them to me. She tells her daugther, " these keys do not belong to us." The toddler is not aware that I am actually exercising my darling girl to perform the task.
She is a sensitive baby, when she hears new sound or someone's voice, she looks around and finds things that mummmy/daddy has hidden. Moreover, she likes to get whatever she sees us holding or eating whether that could be a mobile phone, or lap top, or tv remote control, everything.
On 8th June 2010, she had an appointment in the MCC- everything was normal, her height 73.5 cm, and weight being 9.57 kilos. She sat down and grabbed her shoes while she was allowed to sit on the chair. She later stood and looked around like a very active and clever child.
- During the nights when the lights are off, and if she happends to find herself all by herself, she gives a huge/long cry. It takes lot of patience and time before she calms down.
- We started practicing her " standing" from 7th June @ 9 months & 2 days.
- Outside she has been very social, she smiles/laughs and pranks at people.
- She shakes her body/head when she hears musical programs and songs.
- On 12th June, when taken to wing On, she shouted and babbled. She was the centre of attention.
- She babbles "papa, mama, ma, dada, nya nya nya, jaja"
- she has started nibbling biscuits/bread.
- Regularly we have been taking to the park and practised walking and standing.
- she requires a company all the time.
- she has become friendly with the strangers.
- When she is hungry she searches for mama's breast and sometime produces deep cry.
Food/drink wise
- Banana(only twice during 9 months, since it causes constipation)
- Heinz Apple Juice
- Heinz Apple & Prune Juice
- Egg Yolk
- Pork (2 July 2010, at 9 months & 27 days)
- Chicken (30 June 2010, at 9 months & 25 days)
- Cherry
- Lychee (23rd June 2010, at 9 months & 18 days)
- Choy sum, kind of daily. Whenver she is given she passes stool.
- she is very curious about new things. She likes to touch, hold, grab and put into her mouth. Initially she would show a little dislike and then while later she would grab and put into her mouth whatever she gets.
- During the nights she sleeps stretch 10 hours. When she gets enough sleep, she wakes up, without bothering and plays on her own.
- She enjoys watching TV, sometime her eyes are so glued in the tv. And then I tell her, " she is so like her papa" She enjoys watching " Play school, Bananas in Pyjamas" broadcasted from Australia Network. Also Moov 500, that plays Chinese and English songs.
- She has started to sleep and lie down sideways.
