8 months plus

5th May 2010 - Today Rachida is 8 months old. As a parent it is contending to see a child developing physicallly and mentally. What fascinates me the most is " her killer smile". she babbles, " papa" most of the time, babbles " mama" whenever she is crying or finds herself on her own. Eventhough parenthood is exhausting and full of challenges, seeing your little one's activities, playing joyfully, uuhing & aahing and yes producing beautiful sounds make you feel that you are on the top of the world who is enjoying the most beautiful scene. The sounds that fascinates herself. On her 8th month milestone,she has been able to do:
1. Stomps her feet when she is upset or wants to nag.
2. She can stoop from her seating postion to grab or pull her toys.
3. Looks for objects like an adult does.
4. She is persistent about her needs.
5. She has been eating more, food portion has been increased.
6. She is a fast learner, drumming, hitting keyboard keys.
7. When she refuses to eat, she makes her face by nodding her head side ways.
8. She makes a wry face when she is given different odor/smell food. Eg medicines ..
9. Crying her become her language. She has started to realise that if she cried, she gets attention and gets whatever she wants.
10. When she is upset/angry she would stammer her feet violently. Her anger and dismays have been very noticeable.
11. Started rice feeding from 10th May - infact she is eating more than the cereral.
12. Shows strong happiness while watching Hindi Serials : behenein, Pratigya, Hamari Devrani, sath ni vanna sathiya and Songs.
13. she has become quite talkative from 15th May (8 months * 10 days)
14. whenever she is dressed and put on her pram, she knows she is going out, she shows sexcitements by smiling and stammering her feet.
15. she scratches our face and pulls our hair purposefully.
16. While sleeping or resting she would rest her one leg on the wall and other on me or on her papa...
On the first week of her 8th month, she was little unwell with cough, runny nose and occasional fever. There were nights when she would wake up coughing hard and would cry uncontrollably, the cough woke her up from her deep sleep. It was really frightening when as a parent fail to soothe your baby. After medicating her for 10 days, the cough subsided and finally she was fine. Sick (2nd May -9th May 2010)
17. When we eat she also copies us by munching and smiles.
18. She shows excitment when about to drink milk, she copies us by munching food, she sings when we hum or hears songs on the tv.
19. She is very curious about new thing that she sees or touches.
20. From 29th May, she started sitting from sleeping/lying position.
21. When she is angry or demanding something, she produces a sharp cry and bangs her legs and hands.
22. Whenever she is dressed and put on the pram, she knows she is going out and smiles with joy.
I have been feeding her more water. . No matter how much fluid is given, her stool is still infrequent.
Another developmental change occured on 23rd May 2010- her fith teeth appearance on her lower jaw..
Sixth teeth is also seen appearing on the lower jaw. More the teeth are coming, the harder time Renu Rai is bearing. Rachida for sure does not have any intention to bite but then when she is drinking/suckling it automtatically occurs as the nipple is in between her teeth and that cause hurting.

Nowadays changing nappies have been more difficult as she is very mobile. You need extra patience while changing nappies. Sometime it can be very difficult, exhausting and frustrating.
