Even thou slay me.........

“Even thou slay me, I will still be thy devotee.” Well, this quotation came from the bible when Jesus one of the disciples named 'Job' despite of his body covered from boil said this to the god. It made him believe that no matter what he will always worship the god.

Last week while I was talking with Ley about my condition, she said that I needed blessings from the god. Indeed, I need some. She convinced me that she would pray for me, and then she enquired when my next appointment was. With solemn voice I said “ Tuesday, 9th September.” She then again said, “ I think we should pray before that.” I was so touched with her words that I promised to meet her on the following Sunday.

Rabin and myself got to the designated address that Ley texted me. We got in the place few minutes after 11:30am, where people were already seated and engrossed in the bible listening. There were around 20 people, looked like a happy family reading bibles. As I stepped in my mind was so peaceful, I was happy and delighted to be there. It was actually a big room with guitar, drums, microphone, projector and sound boxes that initially to me looked like a stage. It was indeed a stage where pastor, brother and sister would perform their tasks. Both of us were introduced, the people there were so friendly..

The pastor read the bible and explained what it meant. Today’s topic was “ Suffering” why people suffer and all that. His words were like soothing medicine; and encouraging power for someone so weak and feeble. Even, the physically disable person while hearing him would encourage himself to walk. This was what I felt while hearing him and envisioning the good sides. When the pastor would announce “ time to pray” we all rose up, closed eyes and engrossed in prayer. Going there made me believe that there is some sort of power in the holy place. It was not the kind of place, or church where you would see Jesus Christ’s gigantic picture hanging on and picture of gods on the wall. It was a gathering place where we all could see the god and feel enlightenment.

Almost, at the ending of the program, another brother, whose name I actually forgot, played guitar, Bam played drums and we all sang. It was good to sing, even though we did not know in spite of lyrics being displayed on the projector. We enjoyed others singing merrily.

Today, while returning home, my mind was singing as I spent my time being in the place where the weakest person would feel the strongest individual. The lord will answer all our prayers. When the pastor said that the lord created the earth, which means everything that is in the earth is God’s, i.e. we are god’s children, all the gold, and treasures are his as well.

It is also said that nothing lasts forever, life is short and as long as we live, we should be nice to people and face with the problems gladly.
