Monday, 28th July 2008

It’s been a week since I left my job to rest. It has been a slow but productive days. I have encouraged myself to stick to the schedules even though I can be very lazy sometime. I can still be physically and mentally active by staying at home. Staying home merely means that I stay home 24/7. As I said earlier about sticking to the schedules, if not daily but on a regular/alternate days.
Waking up at 6:30am, preparing breakfast while preparing Rabin for his work is not a joke. Now, it is a kind of habit that has taken toll in my life. While I was working Rabin would drop me to the MTR station, but these days it is the other way round. Instead, I walk him to the bus stop, then waving him goodbye, I forward my steps to the callisthenic park “ KP.” Callisthenic for some people means gymnastics, but a Tai Chi for me. It is slow and relaxation exercise. This is the simple exercise that anybody of any age group can perform. It involves every part of the body. There I spend an hour, enjoying myself with the elderly group who could be my grand parents. Seeing their liveliness and gracefulness I wonder the very reason about their fitness and youthfulness. They might be above 60’s but seeing their physical activeness, it makes me doubtful about their age. Then I try to compare them with me. “ Will I be as active and as young as them when I reach their age?” Then I smile coyly. Apparently, older people are prone to become unhealthy and contagious to diseases. Thus, exercises play an important role during the senior moment.

Once I met Dorjee online he questioned me “ Renu di, people say that what you do during your pregnancy will affect your baby. What do you think?” It was a mesmerizing conversation we had. I was already lost in the dream world where I envisioned good stuff. The stoppage of the music indicated that the exercise for the morning has ended. .

I walked to the market to get some fresh stuff. Purchasing needed food ration every morning, preparing meal, doing washing, studying and taking a nap in the afternoon have been my daily routine. I am pretty much enjoying being a housewife and fulfilling a wife’s obligation.
