6 months plus

Today, 5thApril 2010, our naughty girl(whom I call her adoringly) is 7 months old. These days she smiles most of the time. Her face breaks into wide smile when she is shown a mirror. She enjoys looking herself. I guess, we need a big mirror where she can see her whole body. During her sleeping time, if I am sleeping beside her, if she happen to wake up in the middle of her sleep, she would fall asleep again. If she finds my absence, she would wake up with a loud cry. I think she has started dreaming, unfortunately not a plesant one...she wakes up crying while she has a bad dream. Then she needs to be tightly hugged and lifted.

She babbles a lot and most of the time if I am in the computer or reading, she would play with her given toys.
She adores my mobile. Once she gets hold of it, with the mp3 switched on, she would not let it go. If it falls away from her, if that is to her reach she would grab it. If it is unreachable, she would give a sharp cry, indicating for help help....

When her dad is at home, he holds her most of the time, she enjoys being pampered. I guess whenever she sees her daddy, she longs for his embrace.

She can sit unaided for a while. Unfortunately she doesn't sit straight for more than few seconds. She stoops while sitting. I do not think there is any seirousness. It is just than her back bone is not yet ready. She needs time and we should not be pushing her hard. She will sit when the right time comes, as every child is different. Some learns/starts fast and some keep up with their own pace.

During her 6th month, vaccination, the nurse and the doctor said the baby was big. We parents went height measurment. What a waste of time? Everything was normal, just the good -for -nothing -worry these health assistants create sometime.
1. She enjoys putting her toes into her mouth.
2. She is very loud while protesting.
3. Very very active - In the bath tub she moves her hands & legs vigorously splashing water everywhere and making us wet.
4. She can be easily iritated.
5. She makes her face when given "Gripe water" because it has the aniseed flavor. I bought this for pain releiver. She can differetiate the taste of just plain water or gripe water.
6. While she is being fed, if she doesn't want to eat, she shuts her mouth and produces a loud cry
7. She can suck her toes...
8. Started Solid feeding, " rice based milk cereal" from 1st March 2010.
9. 9th Mar - 13th added stewed/mashed carrot in her cereal.
10. 14th Mar- added sweet potato.
11.When on her tummy, she lifts her head and pushes her body both forward and backward.
12. She produces funny sounds like babbling, fu..........pru....like breathing in & out.
13. Sometime I would tease her, and she would tease me back for example producing a sound that she makes very often.
14. On her lowet jaw, two teeth are crystal clearly visible.
15. Biting on the nipple means, " mama, let me go! Lift me up!"
16. She tries to move forward by pushing her body.
17. She shows strong preferences on the things she likes. E.g mobile...she cries when I seize from her.
18. She enjoys watching Star Plus serial advertisements such as Laadli, Behenein, Pratigya. Her face shines whenever these ads are shown on the tv..
19. She enjoys listening to recorded voices and watches videos amusingly.
20. whenever she has passed stool, she would not move around until she has been wrapped with a clean one.
21. Started babbling " papa papa" from 31st MArch 2010
22. She started rolling from 23s March evening ....she pushes her body and moves forward..
23. She is so persistent and determined...if she wants to get a hold of her toy, she would try until she gets it...
We have started giving her various types of juices, vegetables and fruits along with her rice based milk cereal. She enjoys them .
Basically her sleeping and waking up routine has been formed. During the nights she can sleep stretch for 9-10 hours.
In the evening at 16th March I gave her few sips of fresh orange juice(first try)
