Child birth Training

Queen Elizabeth hospital on time to time cordially invites the expected mums and dads to attend the childbirth education class, which is tailored made for all English speaking clients. The class is conducted by an experienced midwife and lactation consultant of the O&G department. The date was fixed for 23rd May, Saturday at 10am - 12:30. We both attended a birthing training session followed by other 4 more couple. The environment was welcoming. The session began with introduction. We introduced in front of the other expectant parents.
Contents of class includes:
1. Antenatal care
2. Receiving a new life
3. Postnatal care
4. Breastfeeding techniques and concerns
5. Questions and Answers
6. Ward tour
7. Exercises to be done during pregnancy
The class wrapped up at 1:00 pm. We were able to learn many things such as bathing baby, exercises during labor, birth planning options, epidural anesthesia and healthy diets etc. I was quite confidant about these topics as I have read them, some of them I found quite fascinating regarding food. Many books suggested what to avoid and what not to avoid during the pregnancy. But our consultant said that we can eat anything that we like. Except need to avoid alcohol completely which is a no-no to me. Overall, my diet seemed okay which I vary each day with different types of veg, fruits containing needed supplement to the body. Overall, it was worthwhile attending.
