Two weeks

Our dearest daughter Rachida was safely delivered on 5th September 2009 at 09:44 am through normal vaginal delivery. My pregnancy, labor and her arrival was the most amazing and the miraculous experience that I underwent. It was pain but sweet and memorable one. It was hard but it was worth bearing all the hardships. Now comes 4th trimester, i.e the 3 month after her birth. The baby is new to the world of noise, distraction and many faces, she is sure to be confused and shocked and it is totally different place than the womb where she stayed for 41 weeks. My baby was full-term and it is for sure that she grew matured inside the womb. After 37 weeks, the babies are called Termed babies and the babies can be delivered at any time. I prayed god all the time that my daughter would remain inside me until the due date so that she gets fully matured inside me being solely dependent on the food that I ate. Thanks god, my prayer was answered. On the way to 40th week gestation, while attending the antenatal follow up, the doctor suggested if I did not undergo labor within 40th week, I was to go induction on 41st week, i.e on Saturday, 5th September 2009 at 08:30am. On that very day I was to be admitted on the hospital, if sign of labor was not seen, I was to undergo induction......

But then I was preferring and hoping for the labor that may appear any time. Being hopeful, on Friday morning, perhaps due to psychological effect, I felt the stab of contraction.....Rabin was about to go to work, but then fearing that I would get labor at any time, I suggested that he take his day off. We had lunch and we left home at 3:30 pm, with all the needed accessories. By 4:30 pm, I was admitted to the hospital Gny & obs ward. My weight and pressure was measured, questions were asked and after dressed into the pyjamas, I was ready. After my initial examination was done, I was escorted to the bed and baby's heart beat was measured. Then, labor became intense, initially at 10 mins interval later it was quicker and painful.

Rabin left me and I was in the hospital waiting for my baby's arrival. Around 8:30 in the evening, my pain was severe, I could not bear the pain. I tried all type of techniques to ease the labor, but nothing could help. I walked frequently and too deeper breath but nothing could help me.......the nurse/health assistant checked my cervix time to time. It was quite painful when she inserted her finger.....I would cry with pain.......then around 05:30am, my cervix was dilated to 3cm, then I was immediately transferred to the labor room, B4....my mobile was switched off, my stuff were packed and being dressed in a purple gown, I was wheeled to B4...the medical office seems like a learner took my blood from my hand....damn it was hurting, then being unsuccessful he tried on my other hand. I was in pain so I said, " Are yo going to kill me?" but then he realized his mistake, so he wanted to divert my mind by asking several questions....

After tiresome push up and agony......my baby arrived at 09:44. The midwives showed me. I felt like all the pain has gone seeing her, in fact the pain were gone...I was relieved...I was lighter and became peaceful....I did inhale oxygen and epidural anesthesia was given to my request. later I was wheeled to the post natal ward, and the baby was placed beside me...as I was being wheeled, I saw Rabin and Chyamma waiting for me. I was filled with emotions...I cried....with happiness and joy...my little one/my bundle of joy was beside me, closer to my heart...she looked at me as if she realized that we both have deep connection with each other....I was thrilled....this is the miracle of god....she looked contended and so I was....we both looked happy after an exhausted journey....thanks god....all my waiting have come and my prayers are answered....
